Libyan Prime Minister Aldabaiba and US Senior Advisor Berndt discuss political progress and unified spending agreement

Both officials expressed support for the 4+4 Dialogue Committee agreement, viewing it as crucial for elections and stability. They also addressed the implementation of the US-brokered Unified Development Agreement, which aims to keep public spending within revenue limits, a measure the Central Bank of Libya considers vital for economic stability. The Central Bank Governor, Issa, previously threatened to resign over public overspending, which has impacted the dinar's value.

The meeting also covered Libyan-American cooperation in energy, investment, and development, with Prime Minister Aldabaiba encouraging US companies to expand their presence in Libya to strengthen the national economy, create jobs, and improve services.
