Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a news site and a newsletter, we never sell your data, and you can have everything deleted with one email.
What we collect
- Newsletter subscribers: your email address and the preferences you choose (topics, countries, frequency, and timezone). That is all the signup form asks for.
- Signed-in readers: your bookmarks and account preferences, linked to your subscriber record.
- All visitors: standard product analytics (pages viewed, approximate location at country level, browser type) collected through PostHog on our own subdomain. We use it to understand what readers find useful.
- Advertisers: your name, email, and campaign details. Payments are processed by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share personal data with data brokers.
- We do not run third-party ad networks or cross-site trackers. Sponsored placements are served by us, and ad measurement uses a salted hash that rotates daily instead of storing IP addresses.
- We do not send marketing email beyond the digests you asked for.
Cookies
We set a session cookie when you sign in, and small per-article cookies that stop a page refresh from counting as a second view. Analytics runs through our own domain. There are no advertising cookies.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with Supabase (database, EU region) and processed by Vercel (hosting, Frankfurt), Resend (email delivery), PostHog (analytics), and Stripe (payments for advertisers). Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe with one click in any email. To access, correct, or permanently delete your data, email newsletter@baobabpulse.com from the address in question and we will action it within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will note it here and, for material changes, tell subscribers by email.
