Kenya's new police uniforms spark KSh 3 billion tender transparency concerns
Kenyan newspapers on August 29 reported on various topics, including the undisclosed details of a KSh 3 billion tender for new police uniforms. President William Ruto launched a redesigned uniform for Kenya Police officers, replacing the existing light blue shirt/blouse and dark blue trousers. Approximately 60,000 regular police officers are expected to receive the new attire. A standard uniform set is estimated at KSh 25,000, covering a shirt/blouse, trousers, jacket, T-shirt, cap, sweater, socks, belt, and raincoat.
