Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi held a phone call to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations. The ministers praised the historical ties between their nations, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and committed to expanding cooperation. They addressed the upcoming Iranian-Omani declaration on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and Oman's mediation efforts. Both officials emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation through the strait to de-escalate regional tensions and facilitate negotiations for a comprehensive agreement. They highlighted that an open Strait of Hormuz is crucial for global trade, energy security, and supply chain stability, noting that disruptions affect the international economy.
