
Egypt and Kuwait foreign ministers discuss bilateral ties, regional de-escalation
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah held a phone call to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. Both ministers commended the historical relationship between their countries and expressed a desire to enhance cooperation. They stressed the importance of de-escalating regional tensions, citing the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding as a foundation for diplomatic talks and a lasting resolution. The officials also highlighted the significance of state sovereignty, good neighborliness, and protecting international maritime navigation. Regarding Palestinian issues, Abdelatty and Al-Sabah emphasized the completion of Phase One of U.S. President Donald Trump's peace roadmap and the transition to Phase Two to ensure stability, humanitarian aid, and reconstruction in Gaza. They reiterated that a comprehensive solution involves a two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state based on June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
