
UK celebrates new Chevening scholars and opens applications for 2027
The UK Embassy in C么te d'Ivoire celebrated four new Chevening scholarship recipients on Friday, August 21, 2026, at a reception held at the Ambassador's residence in Cocody. The ceremony also honored former scholars, an Ivorian officer trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and volunteers from the British Corner at F茅lix Houphou毛t-Boigny University. John Marshall, the UK Ambassador to C么te d'Ivoire, congratulated the new beneficiaries, highlighting the program's competitive nature and encouraging them to maximize their time in the UK by networking and exploring the country. The four new scholars will pursue studies at various British universities, including Martial, who will undertake a master's in applied artificial intelligence for business at Queen's University Belfast, aiming to use his skills to benefit Ivorian youth. The event also promoted the new application cycle for the Chevening scholarship, which is fully funded by the British government and covers tuition, living expenses, and travel. Applications for the 2027 cycle are open until October 6, 2026. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, have at least two years of professional experience, be proficient in English, and demonstrate ambition to contribute positively to C么te d'Ivoire's development.
