UK celebrates new Chevening scholars and opens applications for 2027

The ceremony also honored former scholars, an Ivorian officer trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and volunteers from the British Corner at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University. John Marshall, the UK Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, congratulated the new beneficiaries, highlighting the program's competitive nature and encouraging them to maximize their time in the UK by networking and exploring the country. The four new scholars will pursue studies at various British universities, including Martial, who will undertake a master's in applied artificial intelligence for business at Queen's University Belfast, aiming to use his skills to benefit Ivorian youth.

The event also promoted the new application cycle for the Chevening scholarship, which is fully funded by the British government and covers tuition, living expenses, and travel. Applications for the 2027 cycle are open until October 6, 2026. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, have at least two years of professional experience, be proficient in English, and demonstrate ambition to contribute positively to Côte d'Ivoire's development.
