Prime Minister Madbouly: Julius Nyerere Dam refutes claims of Egyptian opposition to Nile Basin development
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stated that the Julius Nyerere Dam project in Tanzania disproves assertions that Egypt opposes development in Nile Basin countries. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting regional development, provided it does not harm the vital interests of Egypt or Sudan, emphasizing the existential importance of Nile water rights for Egypt. Madbouly presented the dam as a successful example of bilateral cooperation, attributing its success to continuous oversight by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the leadership of both nations. Speaking at the dam's inauguration, Madbouly highlighted the project as a reflection of strong Egyptian-Tanzanian relations and a testament to their capacity for joint ventures and expanding strategic partnerships.
