He also cites examples like testicular torsion, ruptured ectopic pregnancies, acute airway obstruction, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, heart attacks, strokes, scorpion stings, snakebites, and anaphylactic shock, all of which demand prompt local medical care. Elfitouri emphasizes that Tripoli or Benghazi Medical Centres, trauma hospitals, and other public hospitals across Libyan cities are crucial for handling such emergencies and must be supported and upgraded by officials.

Tripoli opens three 24-hour diesel stations for trucks amid supply shortages

Brega Petroleum Marketing Company has opened three 24-hour fuel stations in Tripoli, specifically for diesel-run trucks. This initiative aims to address a chronic diesel supply issue, particularly affecting truck operators, and follows instructions from the Tripoli government. The move comes during a summer marked by power cuts in Libya, which have impacted petrol station operations and led to diesel shortages and inflated black-market prices, with some paying LD 8 per liter compared to the official LD 0.15. The scarcity of diesel has also affected trade and industry, as it is crucial for operating generators. Brega stated this action is part of the Committee for Improving Basic Services for Citizens' efforts, tasked by the Prime Minister, and is coordinated with the Regional Security Directorates Support Agency. The Agency is responsible for organizing and securing supply at the operational stations: Station 406 – Al-Ahya Al-Barriya, Station 396 – Al-Hadba Project, and Station 062 – Al-Hadba Project. Additionally, two mobile stations are being set up on Airport Road. These measures are intended to alleviate bottlenecks, regulate truck traffic, and ensure a consistent diesel supply for the transport sector.
