Sungrow Power Suez begins construction of energy storage plant in Suez Canal Economic Zone
Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gemblat attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Sungrow Power Suez energy storage manufacturing facility in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The event was also attended by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, Governor of Suez Hany Rashad, and Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Mostafa Shekhoun. Gemblat stated that the ministry's participation aligns with state directives under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to localize modern technologies, especially in new and renewable energy, in collaboration with the private sector to advance Egypt Vision 2030 and strengthen national energy security. He emphasized the importance of partnering with global companies to transfer advanced technologies, build a competitive national industrial base, and open new export markets. Gemblat noted that the SCNEZ reflects Egypt's attractive investment climate, supported by modern infrastructure, a strategic geographic position, and integrated industrial and logistical capacity. The project is seen as a milestone in the Egyptian-Chinese economic partnership, aiming to meet local market demand for energy storage systems, boost exports, and attract more international energy companies to Egypt.
