Rigathi Gachagua claims senator was to board crashed helicopter, questions Interior CS Murkomen's role

Gachagua made these claims on Friday, August 21, after visiting Ng’eno’s family in Emurua Dikirr. He questioned why Senator Chesang did not board the aircraft on its return journey to Endebess. Gachagua also reiterated his earlier allegations about contaminated jet fuel at Eldoret Airstrip, claiming the fuel was transported from Lodwar and that a driver involved was released after a call from Nairobi.

He challenged authorities to release CCTV footage from the airstrip. Furthermore, Gachagua questioned the impartiality of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI, suggesting that senior government officials, including Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, might have a conflict of interest. He called for international investigators like Scotland Yard or the FBI to be involved if the government has nothing to hide.

Gachagua linked Ng’eno’s death to Kalenjin succession politics, claiming Ng’eno was gaining influence as a potential regional kingpin, competing with individuals like Murkomen. He challenged Murkomen to explain what he knew about the alleged call ordering the driver’s release. Gachagua vowed to pursue the matter, stating he would revisit the circumstances of Ng’eno’s death if he became president.
