DCI arrests four suspects in British national Campbell Scott Alistair murder investigation

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of British national Campbell Scott Alistair and multiple robbery with violence incidents. The arrests, made on Saturday, April 11, followed an intelligence-led, multi-agency operation in Ukunda. The suspects, identified as Bernard Mbusu, Isaac Kinoti Kobia, Evans Muthengi Mutaki, and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge, were apprehended at Ideal Apartments. The operation by the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau CR&IB Headquarters, along with SCCIO Nyali and SCCIO Msambweni Ukunda, is linked to investigations into a robbery with violence incident involving an American national in Nyali and the murder of Scott in February 2025. Scott's body was discovered in Mukuyuni along the Machakos–Wote road. The DCI also stated that the suspects have been forensically linked to another robbery with violence incident in Watamu, Malindi Sub-County. During a search of the residence, stolen items were recovered, including an HP laptop, mobile phones, foreign currency, credit cards, cheque books, and PDQ machines. The suspects and recovered exhibits are currently held at Nyali Police Station as investigations continue.
