
Libyan Oil and Gas Minister discusses investment and production with ConocoPhillips at ONS 2026
Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, met with ConocoPhillips executives Kirk Johnson, Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Technical Functions, and Steinar Fagge, President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, during the ONS 2026 Conference and Exhibition in Stavanger, Norway. The discussions focused on ConocoPhillips' investment plans, development programs for the Waha concessions, and strategies to increase production, building on the 2026 agreement that extended the concessions until 2050. The meeting also explored opportunities for employing modern technologies and developing national expertise. Minister Abdel Sadig emphasized the need to accelerate investment and development projects and resolve challenges to boost production and strengthen the long-term partnership. Faisal Miloud, Chairman of Zueitina Oil Company, and Salem Amdeqish, Ambassador of Libya to Denmark and Norway, also attended the meeting.
