Namibian junior swimmers head to World Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Argentina

Their coach, Jorn Diekmann, stated that the swimmers are well-prepared and have trained diligently, anticipating strong performances, potentially placing high within the middle pack. The team has prior international experience, including the World Junior Championships in Sardinia, Italy, two years ago, and the Africa Championships in Mauritius earlier this year, where Madison Bergh secured a gold and a silver medal, Riley Bergh won a silver, and Tristan Nell earned multiple medals. Madison Bergh expressed her aim to finish in the top 20, while Tristan Nell hopes to leverage his past experience to improve his performance.

David Nell, vice president of the Namibia Aquatic Sports Federation Nasfed, highlighted this as a significant opportunity for the swimmers to compete globally and demonstrate Namibia's competitiveness. He also noted that the swimmers have not received financial support, with parents funding their participation, and the federation is actively seeking sponsorships.
