Kururia claimed that after Gachagua makes remarks on a Sunday, he calls Ruto the following day to relay what was said, but with added exaggerations. This admission has drawn criticism from Kenyans, who questioned his suitability as a legislator. The remarks have also raised concerns about the reliability of information reaching the President regarding political opponents. This confession follows a separate incident where Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma claimed his alleged inflammatory remarks were taken out of context, arguing his speeches were mistranscribed.
