Messina Line to launch new West Med Line in September, combining Algeria and Libya services
Italy's Messina Line is set to launch its new West Med Line in September, integrating its current Algeria and Libya services into a unified network across the Western Mediterranean. This new service follows the recent introduction of the Red Sea Express Line. The West Med Line aims to enhance transit times for cargo from Suez via Misurata connections and boost frequency and connectivity within the Western Mediterranean. It will feature regular departures from Spain and France approximately every 10 days, serving direct destinations and those accessible via Genoa, covering the Spanish, French, Libyan, and Algerian markets. The standard rotation will include Castellon, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Misurata, Tripoli, Misurata, Algiers, and Castellon. The first sailing is scheduled from Castellon on September 6, operated by m/v Libertas H, with a second sailing on September 17 by m/v Pacific Dalian. This initiative is part of the company's strategy to offer more efficient, reliable, and responsive solutions, expanding its regional network and strengthening connections among existing services and markets.
