Gabon Infini project secures over $100 million for ten years of conservation and sustainable development

This document will guide the program's implementation over the next decade, with over $100 million in philanthropic funding allocated for sustainable development, conservation, and local community support. The initiative aims to protect 30% of Gabon's ecosystems by 2030. The meeting, chaired by Vice-President of the Government Hermann Immongault, included the Minister of Water and Forests, Environment, Climate and Human-Wildlife Conflict, Maurice Ntossui Allogo, the Minister of Planning and Foresight, Louise Pierrette Mvono, the Minister of Economy, Thierry Minko, and the Minister of Agriculture, Pacôme Kossy.

Representatives from The Nature Conservancy TNC, the Gabon Biodiversity Preservation Fund FPBG, the National Climate Council CNC, Wildlife Conservation Society WCS, and Brainforest also participated. The plan focuses on four priorities: supporting community development, improving protected area governance, contributing to the protection of 30% of Gabonese ecosystems, and establishing innovative and sustainable financing mechanisms. Hermann Immongault emphasized that nature protection should create concrete economic and social opportunities for populations, fostering sustainable local value chains and transforming biodiversity into a strategic lever for economic growth.
