
Egypt's Foreign Minister discusses regional developments and de-escalation with Kuwaiti counterpart
Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, held a telephone call with Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs. The discussion focused on regional developments and the current escalation, with both ministers emphasizing the priority of de-escalation and the need to resume diplomatic and negotiating tracks between Iran and the United States. They highlighted the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding as a framework for negotiations to prevent further regional tension and instability. The ministers also addressed security concerns, stressing the importance of resolving tensions to enhance regional security and stability. They reaffirmed principles of good neighborliness, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in internal affairs, and peaceful dispute resolution.
