Egypt and IFC discuss boosting private sector participation in key sectors

The meeting involved Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom and Ary Naïm, IFC Regional Director for North Africa and the Horn of Africa. Rostom emphasized the government's efforts to increase private sector participation in national projects and improve the investment environment through regulatory and legislative frameworks. Naïm stated that the IFC aims to offer financing, technical, and advisory support for major infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships, and entrepreneurship initiatives in Egypt.

Rostom also invited the IFC to the Global Entrepreneurship Festival GEF 2026 in Cairo from November 6 to 8. Both parties agreed to continue coordinating to develop programs that support economic growth and job creation.
