BP begins production from Fayoum 4 gas well in Egypt's West Nile Delta

This initiative supports the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' strategy to attract investment, accelerate field development, and increase domestic gas output. BP brought the well online about two years ahead of schedule by utilizing existing infrastructure. The Fayoum well was discovered during BP's 2025 exploration campaign.

To enhance the field's potential, BP drilled a sidetrack well to access new Messinian reservoir layers at nearly 3,000 meters, avoiding the need for a separate well or new subsea infrastructure. Production from Fayoum 4 is connected to processing facilities via the Giza–Fayoum pipeline. Nader Zaki, BP's Regional President for the Middle East and North Africa, stated that the project demonstrates BP's commitment to accelerating gas development, optimizing infrastructure, and applying advanced technologies to boost Egypt's natural gas production.

BP operates the West Nile Delta facilities with an 82.75% stake, while Harbour Energy holds 17.25%.
