Zimbabwe's immigration policy: Aligning investor visas with economic transformation

While policy discussions have focused on improving the ease of doing business and marketing natural resources, the role of immigration policy in supporting investment and industrialization has received less attention. Immigration policy, often seen as administrative, is a powerful economic tool, as each visa issued reflects decisions about the skills, capital, and enterprise a country seeks. Countries successful in leveraging foreign investment understand that immigration policy should not just facilitate entry but also shape the quality and strategic direction of investment.
