Yobe records peaceful farming season, KACRAN attributes success to government support and farmer-herder cooperation

This positive development was shared in a statement by KACRAN's National President, Hon. Khalil Mohammed Bello, following a press conference in Damaturu. The association credits the Yobe State Government's sustained support and improved cooperation between farmers and herders for this achievement. KACRAN emphasized that farmers and herders are increasingly collaborating as partners in progress, contributing to food security and economic development.

The association urged farmers to avoid encroaching on grazing reserves and blocking cattle routes, while advising herders to prevent grazing on cultivated farmlands. Both groups were encouraged to report disputes to authorities for peaceful resolution and to report suspicious activities to security agencies. KACRAN commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his commitment to agriculture and conflict prevention, as well as local government chairmen, traditional rulers, and security agencies.

They also praised the North East Development Commission for its interventions and appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other state governors to adopt Yobe State's stakeholder engagement approach to conflict resolution.
