Marhaba 2026 operation sees significant Moroccan-Spanish mobilization for returning travelers
The Marhaba 2026 operation, organized from June 10 to September 15 under the supervision of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, facilitates the return of Moroccans residing abroad. As of July 20, 2026, 1,862,609 travelers had arrived in Morocco, marking a 1.04% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Of these arrivals, 938,641 passengers arrived by air 50.39% and 923,968 by sea 49.61%, highlighting the crucial role of ports like Tanger Med and Algeciras. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has provided 21,413 services to travelers, including 2,417 medical interventions, 3,609 administrative, legal, and transport assistance services, and 14,417 reception, orientation, and support services. The Foundation has mobilized 26 reception areas, with 20 in Morocco and 6 abroad in Spain, France, and Italy. Abdellah Bidoud, Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Algeciras, emphasized the special attention given to the operation by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and noted that the 2026 edition benefited from past experiences, with the new European border control system not affecting its normal progress.
