Morocco suspends import duties on sheep and various meats until end of 2026
Morocco has suspended import duties on several categories of meat products until December 31, 2026. A circular from the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration ADII, published on July 27, implements Decree No. 2.26.584 of July 23, 2026. This decree suspends import duties on live domestic sheep and meats from bovine, ovine, caprine, and camel species. However, offal from these same species will still be subject to a 30% import duty. These measures, effective July 27, aim to reduce the cost of importing various meat products to improve their supply in the national market. This decision is part of tariff measures adopted by public authorities to meet the market's red meat needs in the coming months, thereby strengthening the available supply. Any difficulties in applying these new provisions should be reported to the ADII's central administration.
