Veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, laid to rest in Ogun State

The interment followed prayers held at Agunloye Ashade Pavilion. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by Commissioner for Youth and Sports Wasiu Isiaka, attended the ceremony alongside Nollywood stars and government officials. President Bola Tinubu, in a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, described Ogogo as a distinguished artist who shaped Yoruba-language theatre and Nigerian cinema, promoting Yoruba culture and Nigeria's diverse cultural heritage.

The President noted that Hassan's work would remain an important part of Nigeria's cultural history and highlighted his mentorship of younger artists. Governor Abiodun described Hassan as an exceptional theatre practitioner and icon whose death was painful. Bolaji Amusan, President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria TAMPAN, called Ogogo a complete gentleman of reputable character and urged his family to keep his legacy alive.

Sheikh Iskeel Lawal, Wakeel Muslim for the South-West, Edo, and Delta, and Consultant on Islamic Affairs to the Ogun State Government, urged people to live rightly and for theatre practitioners to remain united.
