
Gunmen kill police inspector, seven others in Adamawa
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked the Gaya community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of a police inspector and seven civilians. The Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Aliyu Sa’ad, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers burned two houses. The Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, also confirmed the recovery of five bodies, including an inspector and four civilians, and noted that troops, police, hunters, and other security agencies have been deployed to search for the attackers. This incident adds to the ongoing security challenges in Hong Local Government Area, which has experienced repeated attacks linked to insurgency. Residents in Adamawa continue to face threats from Boko Haram and other armed groups operating near the Sambisa Forest.
