Harry Kane confirms contract extension talks with Bayern Munich to begin
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane announced that negotiations to extend his contract beyond 2027 are set to commence. Speaking in Munich, the 33-year-old England captain stated that discussions were delayed due to his post-World Cup holiday but would begin this week or next. Kane, who joined Bayern in 2023 on a four-year deal, has won two Bundesliga titles and a German Cup, reaching the Champions League semi-finals twice in three seasons. He has scored 146 goals in 147 games for the club. Bayern has expressed a strong desire to extend his deal, having previously called him their "best transfer ever." German media reports suggest a new contract could run until at least 2029. German World Cup winner Lothar Matthaeus has endorsed Kane as the favorite for the upcoming Ballon dโOr award, citing his exceptional performance of 61 goals in 51 games last season.
