Egypt to link higher education with labor market needs through 2026/2027 development plan
Egypt's Economic and Social Development Plan for the fiscal year 2026/2027 prioritizes strengthening the connection between university education and labor market demands. The plan focuses on expanding technological and applied education programs and introducing technological educational models aligned with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This initiative aims to ensure university graduates meet labor market needs and the private sector's demand for skilled technical workers. Additionally, the plan seeks to improve the competitiveness and ranking of the higher education system, increase access to university education services across all governorates, and enhance the quality of educational services. It also encourages private sector investment in higher education and scientific research, fostering partnerships between universities and production institutions to boost graduates' employability. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to integrate the higher education system with sustainable development plans and Egypt鈥檚 Vision 2030, promoting collaboration among universities, the private sector, and research institutions.
