Two dead, one injured in Times Square knife attack

The incident took place in Manhattan when a woman stabbed another woman and a man. The first woman died instantly. The assailant was then shot by police after she refused to drop her weapon.

According to the New York Police Department NYPD, the man stabbed by the attacker is in critical condition. The NYPD stated that the suspect, who appeared "emotionally disturbed," was threatening passersby with two knives before attacking the two victims. Authorities in New York indicated she had "no clear motive."

The suspect then approached a police station, threatening NYPD officers, who were forced to open fire after she refused to drop her knife.
