Tunisia secures three new athletics medals at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, including one gold and two silver

Marwa Bouzayani won gold in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, ahead of her compatriot Rehab Dhaouadi, who secured the silver medal in the same event. Clara Antrosen of France took third place and the bronze medal. This achievement marked a one-two finish for Tunisia in the event.

Shortly after, Mohamed Amine Jhinaoui earned a silver medal in the 5,000 meters, finishing in 14 minutes 41 seconds 55. He placed behind Portugal's Marques Pinto, who won gold with a time of 14 minutes 41 seconds 11. Morocco's Fouad Messaoudi claimed the bronze medal with a time of 14 minutes 41 seconds 75.

With these three new distinctions, Tunisia's total at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto now stands at 23 medals, comprising three gold, eight silver, and twelve bronze. The Mediterranean Games are ongoing in Taranto until September 3, 2026.
