
Rehabeam Auala Jr appointed head of global markets at RMB Namibia
RMB Namibia has appointed Rehabeam 'Ray' Auala Jr as its head of global markets, effective June 1. This appointment aims to strengthen the bank's market and risk management offerings amid growing demand for foreign exchange, risk management solutions, and capital markets services. Group spokesperson Kirsty Watermeyer noted the bank's growth in foreign exchange volumes and increased client demand for risk management and capital market access, trends also highlighted in the Bank of Namibia 2025 annual report. Auala Jr brings over 12 years of experience within the FirstRand Namibia group, having started as a bursary student. His background spans financial accounting, treasury, and global markets, and he previously led RMB's trade and execution desk. He holds an honors degree from the University of Cape Town with majors in economics, accounting, and finance, and has completed specialist financial markets and leadership programs. Daniel Motinga, RMB Namibia chief executive, stated that the appointment reflects Auala Jr's contributions and the bank's confidence in its developed talent, emphasizing his ability to understand markets, make sound decisions, and lead with humility.
