Taiwo Awoniyi linked with Turkish club Rizespor

Rizespor is reportedly looking for a new striker and has placed the Nigeria international on their shortlist, alongside reinforcing other areas of the squad, including full-back and midfield positions. Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest from Union Berlin in 2022 for €20.5 million and has since made over 100 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals. His 2025/26 campaign was affected by injuries, limiting him to 17 Premier League appearances, where he scored four goals and provided one assist.

Despite his recurring injury problems, Awoniyi remains under contract with Forest until June 2027. While Rizespor's interest could offer Awoniyi a potential move from the City Ground, no formal offer or agreement on a transfer fee has been made at this stage, indicating the move is still in an exploratory phase.
