Suspected terrorists kill 30 in Kaduna village attack, including eight children

The assault, which occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday, involved indiscriminate shooting and setting houses ablaze. Mr. Dogon Rana, Secretary to the Village Head of Naridon, confirmed the deaths and reported that four others sustained critical injuries. He described the attack as unprecedented, noting that many families lost loved ones and property.

Mr. Rana's own house was among those burned, and he mentioned one villager lost five children. He attributed the high casualty count partly to the absence of a motorable access road, which delayed emergency response. He appealed to the Federal and Kaduna State Governments and security agencies for increased security presence and road construction.

A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed 22 members of the Rana family were killed and alleged the attack lasted about three hours without intervention from security personnel, despite nearby military formations. Efforts to get a reaction from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful.
