Rivers State and Federal Government sign MoU to boost creative economy and tourism

The signing took place at the Government House in Port Harcourt, where Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara reiterated his commitment to developing the Oyorokoto Beach Resort project to establish the state as a tourism hub. Governor Fubara highlighted the state's significant investments in tourism over the past three years, including a partnership with Landmark for the new Tourist Beach, with the first phase expected to be unveiled by December. He also noted that the Ngo-Atlantic Oyorokoto Road project in Andoni Local Government Area aligns with the Renewed Hope Cultural Project's goals, aiming to open up the region and showcase attractions like the Oyorokoto Beach.

The governor emphasized that infrastructure development extends beyond roads and hospitals to include creating an economy for entertainment and relaxation, drawing parallels to successful hospitality industries in Europe and the Middle East. He assured that Rivers State would deliver tangible results within four months and thanked the Federal Government for selecting the state for the project.
