
UK opens applications for 2026 Chevening Scholarships
The United Kingdom has opened applications for the 2026 Chevening Scholarships, offering fully funded master鈥檚 degree opportunities at UK universities. The application period runs from August 4 to October 6, 2026. The British High Commission stated that the program aims to equip future leaders with world-class education, professional networks, and UK connections to address global challenges and contribute to development. Emma Hennessey, Head of the Scholarships Unit at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, emphasized that Chevening seeks exceptional individuals committed to collaborating with the UK to build a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future, with a particular interest in applications from under-represented groups. Jonny Baxter, British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, described the scholarship as an opportunity to join a global network of leaders and gain the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to address pressing challenges and advance sustainable development. Established in 1983, the Chevening Scholarship program has supported over 60,000 professionals worldwide.
