Southern Liberation Operations Room attacks checkpoint in Libya's deep south

This checkpoint is said to be under the control of Hafter's forces. The SLOR claimed on its Facebook page to have taken some of Hafter's LNA/affiliated soldiers as prisoners and stated it was heading north towards the Wigh airbase. However, a source in southern Libya refuted this, indicating the SLOR conducted a 'hit and run' operation and then moved south again.

The source described the SLOR's actions as "gorilla-warfare to undermine LNA positions in the desert terrains and the border areas," noting that the group has modest military capabilities but poses a significant security risk to the LNA from its operating bases in northern Niger. The SLOR's presence also challenges the LNA's claim of "effective control" over Fezzan and its border areas. This incident follows a January 31 attack on the Al Toum border security checkpoint and other southern border posts by militias identifying themselves as the "Sons and Revolutionaries of the Libyan South," who accused Hafter's General Command of exploiting southern resources and fueling regional instability.
