Harry Kane scored two goals to help Bayern Munich secure a 4-1 victory over second-division Osnabrueck in their German Cup opener. Bayern, the defending champions, initially fell behind after Robin Meissner scored for Osnabrueck in the fifth minute. Kane quickly equalized, and Tom Bischof added another goal six minutes later to give Bayern the lead. Michael Olise scored in the 73rd minute, and Kane converted a penalty with four minutes left to seal the win. Kane, who joined Bayern Munich in 2023, now has 148 goals in 150 games across all competitions for the club. Bayern, 21-time German Cup winners, had not been eliminated in the first round since 1994. In another German Cup match, Borussia Dortmund defeated fifth-division HEBC 5-0.
