Senegal's tax revenues increase by 10.8% in early 2026, driven by corporate tax growth

This growth was primarily fueled by a substantial 41.9% rise in corporate tax. The nation's public finances showed positive momentum in May 2026, with total state revenues climbing from 395.5 billion FCFA in April to 427.9 billion FCFA in May, marking an 8.2% monthly increase. Compared to May 2025, revenues in May 2026 were up by 12.4%.

Over the first five months of 2026, total state revenues reached 1,470.5 billion FCFA, an increase of 7.9% from 1,362.8 billion FCFA during the same period in 2025. Fiscal revenues specifically grew by 8.6% during this period, from 1,275 billion to 1,384.3 billion FCFA. While direct taxes increased by 10.8%, largely due to corporate tax, income tax revenues decreased by 14%.

Non-fiscal revenues, including those from oil exploitation, also saw a modest 9% increase, reaching 20.2 billion FCFA in the first five months of 2026, up from 18.5 billion FCFA a year prior.
