Patrick Vieira's official presentation as Senegal coach postponed due to unresolved issue with former coach
The official presentation of Patrick Vieira as the new coach of the Lions, initially scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed. The Senegalese Football Federation FSF had reportedly finalized a contract with the former Arsenal captain, including a monthly salary of 35 million FCFA. However, the delay is attributed to an unresolved matter concerning Pape Thiaw, the former coach. The FSF intends to settle the outstanding issues related to Thiaw's departure before officially announcing Vieira's appointment. The Federation's president has reportedly been tasked with negotiating directly with Pape Thiaw and his lawyers regarding his severance package. This precaution aims to prevent any legal or financial disputes that could impact the French coach's arrival. No official announcement will be made until this matter is resolved.
