Security analyst claims 80% of anti-galamsey agencies now shield illegal miners

He stated that officers from various state security agencies, including police and soldiers, are now allowing illegal mining to continue by collecting bribes at mining sites. Tetteh, speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, asserted that both the current and previous administrations have failed to address galamsey. He noted that even licensed mining companies are breaching laws and that police officers, soldiers, EPA officials, NADMO officials, and other security services are compromised, protecting illegal miners for financial gain.

He described government security advisors as "intellectually bankrupt" for not accurately representing the crisis. While acknowledging the government's decision to establish military camps in affected communities as "better late than never," Tetteh criticized the President for not declaring a State of Emergency despite evidence.
