SDP presidential candidate Prince Adewale Adebayo criticizes Tinubu's economic policies and leadership

Speaking in Abuja during a consultation visit to the Middle Belt Forum ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Adebayo emphasized the Middle Belt's critical economic and strategic importance to Nigeria's stability and development. He argued that the country cannot achieve meaningful progress under a government that fails to understand its diversity, accusing the Tinubu administration of poor leadership and inadequate representation, particularly regarding ministerial appointments. Adebayo pledged to restructure the armed forces and adopt a community-based approach to security if elected, aiming to end insecurity, especially in the Middle Belt.

He also accused President Tinubu of economic illiteracy, claiming the administration's policies exclude Nigerians from economic production. Adebayo proposed focusing on full employment, transparent government revenue, accountability, and separating public office from government contracts. He also highlighted the need for decentralizing Nigeria's economic production, stopping the "criminalization of mining," and expanding electricity generation capacity to between 50,000 and 75,000 megawatts through solar, gas, and hydroelectric power, with transparent procurement.
