China pledges N40.3 billion grant for development projects in Nigeria

This pledge was made during a meeting with Dr. Dunoma Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Abuja. The grant aims to support projects jointly agreed upon by both governments, advancing Nigeria’s development priorities and economic growth. Ambassador Yu highlighted that China-Nigeria relations have been at the forefront of China-Africa relations for 55 years, with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership entering a new stage under the guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.

Both countries maintain close communication to implement understandings reached by their leaders and the outcomes of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation FOCAC Beijing Summit, ensuring cooperation translates into tangible benefits for citizens. Dr. Ahmed expressed gratitude for China's support, affirming Nigeria's commitment to effectively utilize the grant and strengthen bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit.
