Herv茅 Renard officially presented as new coach of C么te d'Ivoire's Elephants
The Ivorian Football Federation FIF officially presented Herv茅 Renard as the new coach of the C么te d'Ivoire Elephants on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The ceremony took place at the FIF headquarters in Treichville, during a press conference led by Federation President Idriss Diallo, with Vice-President Malick Toh茅 also present. This appointment follows the departure of Emerse Fa茅, whose contract was not renewed despite the team's journey to the 2026 World Cup, which ended with elimination in the second round. Idriss Diallo justified Renard's selection, stating that he met all the required conditions and that the team is ready to face future challenges with him. This marks a return to C么te d'Ivoire for Renard, eleven years after leading the Ivorian team to victory in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Renard expressed his honor in returning and his ambition to continue the team's success, acknowledging the high expectations from supporters. He also announced that Siramana Demb茅l茅, an Ivorian, will serve as his assistant, combining international expertise with local knowledge. Although his contract is for two years, Renard aims to lead the Elephants to the next World Cup. The FIF is banking on Renard's experience to usher in a new chapter of success for the Elephants.
