
President Tinubu rewarded Kano with over 40 key political appointments, says lawmaker
Abdulmumin Jibrin, the lawmaker representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State, stated that President Bola Tinubu has appointed over 40 individuals from Kano to key federal government positions. Speaking on Channels Television鈥檚 Politics Today, Jibrin argued that these appointments demonstrate the President's commitment to Kano and provide a strong reason for the state's residents to support him. He cited examples of Kano indigenes appointed to federal roles, including Mariya Bunkure as Minister of State for the FCT, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Ganduje as FAAN board chairman, and Nasiru Gawuna as Federal Mortgage Bank chairman. While Jibrin claimed over 40 appointments, this number could not be independently verified from public records. Addressing concerns about hardship and economic pressure faced by ordinary citizens, Jibrin attributed public unawareness of government efforts to communication gaps. He highlighted projects like the completed Bichi railway station and activities at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital as examples of initiatives residents are becoming more aware of. Jibrin also praised the Kano State Government for its infrastructure projects, such as rural roads, new classrooms, and renovated health centers.
