Ronaldinho returns to football with Italian third-division side Ravenna, aiming for 300th career goal
Former Brazil star Ronaldinho, who retired in 2015, announced his comeback to football with Italian third-division club Ravenna. The 46-year-old, a 2002 World Cup winner and 2005 Ballon d'Or recipient, played his last official match in September 2015 with Fluminense. Ronaldinho expressed happiness to be back in Italy and stated his goal is to help his teammates win, adding that scoring his 300th career goal would be "even more beautiful." Ignazio Cipriani, Ravenna's owner since 2024, confirmed Ronaldinho's return, describing his objective as "romantic" and not a marketing stunt. Cipriani also stated that Ronaldinho, who scored 33 goals in 97 appearances for Brazil, will become a shareholder in the club and will not play in the Serie C season opener against Reggiana. Ravenna finished third in Group B last season and aims to return to Serie B, a league they last played in during 2008.
