Borno Catholic Bishop calls for intensified prayers against Boko Haram
The Catholic Bishop of Maiduguri Diocese, Most Rev. Oliver Dashe, urged Christians to intensify prayers against insecurity, stating that prayers can defeat Boko Haram. Speaking after a church session for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop Dashe acknowledged the improved peace in Borno State after a decade of insurgency. He emphasized that while prayer is crucial, individuals and the government must also fulfill their roles to achieve complete victory. Bishop Dashe highlighted the significant role of Mother Mary in the diocese, attributing the current relative peace to her intervention. He called on all levels of government to support security agents in confronting terrorists in their strongholds to ensure lasting peace in the state and country.
