Rescued Oyo pupils and teachers arrive at state secretariat after abduction

This follows their handover by the Federal Government to the state government. A video showed the rescued individuals alighting from a van under heavy military security. Their arrival comes after the Federal Government announced on Friday the successful release of all abducted pupils and teachers after over 50 days in captivity.

Before the handover, they received medical treatment and psychosocial support at the Military Hospital in Ibadan, where Governor Seyi Makinde and the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, visited them. Parents of the schoolchildren expressed relief and anticipation for reunification.
