South Africa is expected to experience a stormy and wet start to spring, particularly in central and eastern regions during September, before transitioning to hotter and drier conditions with heatwaves in the summer. Vox Weather meteorologist Michelle du Plessis noted that large parts of the Northern Cape and western interior had an exceptionally dry and unusually warm August.
