Presidential aide Temitope Ajayi refutes Donald Duke's criticism of Lagos-Calabar Highway project

Duke had criticized the Lagos-Calabar Highway project, valued at N15 trillion, during an interview with Arise News, suggesting the funds could be better allocated to other sectors. Duke, a former Cross River State governor, argued that the project would not extend beyond Epe in Lagos State, citing an existing road to Calabar and the swampy terrain of Bayelsa. He also criticized the government's borrowing practices and called for a restructuring of governance.

In response, Ajayi stated via his X handle that the project has already reached Ogun State and is progressing into Ondo and Akwa-Ibom states, directly refuting Duke's claim that it would not go beyond Epe.
