
President Tinubu approves committee for five-year strategic defence plan
President Bola Tinubu has approved the formation of a drafting committee to develop a five-year strategic defence cooperation plan. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced this after a Federal Executive Council meeting. The committee will include the National Security Adviser, the two Ministers of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, all service chiefs, the Director-General of the DSS, the Director-General of the NIA, and the Special Adviser to the President on Homeland Security, who will also provide the secretariat. The committee has been given 90 days to submit its report to President Tinubu.
